If you live in the uk, please consider signing this petition for the uyghur people
Hello everyone:
I hope you are well. This is Kathy Polias from the Uyghur American Association (www.uyghuramerican.org) writing. IF YOU LIVE IN THE UK, THIS ACTION IS FOR YOU.
This petition concerns the Uyghurs and the 14th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva in June 2010. This petition is addressed to several UK officials and asks that during the general debate on Item 4 (“Human rights situations that require the Council’s attention”) at the June 2010 HRC meeting, the UK raise the grave human rights violations that the authorities in China committed during -- and have committed in the aftermath of -- the peaceful Uyghur protest and the ethnic unrest in July 2009 in Urumchi, the regional capital of East Turkestan. IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT THAT UK OFFICIALS RECEIVE THIS REQUEST FROM INDIVIDUALS LIVING IN UK.
If you live in the UK, please read and consider adding your endorsement/signature to the online petition addressed to: David Miliband, the Secretary of State for UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs; Glenys Minnock, Foreign Office Minister of State whose responsibilities include the United Nations; and Peter Gooderham, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the UK to the United Nations in Geneva. The petition is at www.gopetition.com/online/35961.html.
Thank you so very much. Make your voice heard. Your voice is extremely important.
Best wishes,
Kathy
