Uyghur Dancer Rena Abliz



  Rena was born in 1983 into a family of dancers, in Hotan, one of the ancient cities of the Silk Road, located on the southern edge of the Taklamakan Desert in western China (Region Xinjiango or Chinese Turkestan).

  Her parents are both professional dancers of all Hotan. Her father is considered one of the greatest dancers of traditional Xinjiang, beloved by the public, and is also a talented calligrapher.
 
 During her childhood, Rena has participated in many traditional dance event in her hometown. But to realize her dreams as a dancer, and to continue its
path in the footsteps of her parents, Rena came to Urumqi, the capital of Uighur.

 

  In 1994, at the age of eleven, she passed the entrance examination at the dance department at the Conservatory of Xinjiang. Her training lasted four years during which she discussed and refined various disciplines of traditional dance, ballet, dance minority, oriental dance, western dance, etc.. But traditional dance has always retained the most important place for Rena, who has never forgotten his roots, perfecting his art with her father and other great masters of dance ouïgure.
